Unlike many other tele. operators, Reliance Jio is planning to capture both the network and handsets markets with its double strategy. Apart from offering high-speed internet, the .pany is targeting hardware, too. It has planned to flood the market with low-cost 4G-enabled phones, as a part of its strategy. Additionally, it will offer the 4G services at an affordable rate between INR 350 and INR 500 per month. Reliance Jio has associated itself with a minimum of 5 Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to produce low-cost handsets, integrated with its 4G services. It has partnered with .panies like Huawei, Gionee, and Xiaomi. The LYF brand handsets and Jio network will let users make internet-based high-definition voice and video calls, using Wi-Fi and LTE technologies. Head of Business Strategy Development, Anshuman Thakur, said, Reliance Retail will soon launch its own brand of 4G LTE smartphones under the brand LYF.He stated that the brand will offer superior user experience with its high-performance handsets and, fast and seamless 4G services. Reliance Jios 4G preparations Reliance Jio has the maximum number of liberalized spectrum .pared to all other tele. operators. It holds a total of 751.1 MHz spectrum in the bands of 800 MHz, 1800 MHz, and 2300 MHz .It has also partnered with Reliance .munications to obtain spectrum in the 850 MHz band in 7 circles. All of these .prise 35% of the overall market, which will be captured by Reliance Jio. Reliance Jio also benefits from a new network, unlike other tele. operators, a fact that better enables it to offer high-speed services. The .pany will make a total investment of INR 1 lakh crore in the pre-launch period. It is set to launch its .mercial services in December, this year. Reliance Jio has involved 10,000 testers to check its 4G services before the launch.
